Treatment

For many chronic illnesses, medical cannabis can be a treatment alternative or supplement. To check whether treatment with medical cannabis could be the right treatment option for you, you can submit a free treatment request. The treatment decision is always made by the doctor during the initial consultation.
Nach Ihrer Registrierung und der Prüfung Ihrer Angaben und Dokumente, schalten wir Sie zur Terminbuchung frei. Anschließend können Sie einen Termin zum Erstgespräch mit einem unserer kooperierenden Ärzte vereinbaren. In diesem Gespräch entscheidet der Arzt über einen möglichen Therapiebeginn.
Nachdem Ihre Unterlagen geprüft wurden, können Sie direkt einen Termin für ein persönliches Arztgespräch über Ihr Benutzerkonto vereinbaren. Um unverzüglich mit der Therapie beginnen zu können, wird der Behandlungsvertrag bereits im Vorfeld an Sie versendet. Ein Behandlungsvertrag ist notwendig, weil es sich um eine privatärztliche Leistung handelt.
During the initial consultation with one of our cooperating doctors, a physical and psychological medical history is taken. If medical cannabis is a suitable therapeutic alternative and/or supplement for you, it will be prescribed according to your individual diagnosis and needs.
After the treatment, you will receive your prescription, which can be sent to a pharmacy of your choice if you wish. Another option is to use an online pharmacy, which will conveniently send the medication to your home.

Sie können Ihr Rezept grundsätzlich bei jeder Apotheke in Deutschland einreichen. Allerdings kommt es auch darauf an, ob die Apotheke das Ihnen verschriebene Cannabis vorrätig hat. Wir empfehlen Ihnen deshalb eine auf Cannabis spezialisierte Versandapotheke zu nutzen. Diese schickt Ihnen das Präparat direkt nach Hause.
After the dosing phase, you have the option of requesting a follow-up prescription from your doctor without a video consultation. The approval will be given by your treating doctor, taking into account your treatment progress.
It is possible to specify a desired preparation with the same dosage and a similar spectrum of activity when applying.
In order to track your treatment progress, you will be asked about your health at regular intervals in the nowomed app. This way, your doctor can closely monitor your therapy, even if you only consult him once a quarter via video consultation. By answering the questions about your quality of life, you can apply for a follow-up prescription without a consultation.

Legal

Theoretically, any doctor (apart from dentists and veterinarians) can prescribe you medical cannabis. In practice, this is usually different, as many doctors are not familiar with cannabis therapy. Our cooperating doctors specialize in cannabinoid therapy.
The ability to drive must be considered individually for your treatment case: "In principle, patients are allowed to participate in road traffic as long as their ability to drive is not impaired by the medication, ie they must be able to drive a vehicle safely. The same legal situation applies as for other medications, such as opioid prescriptions." (see www.bundestag.de ). However, it is advisable to take legal precautions beforehand.
On request, your doctor will issue you with a “certificate for carrying narcotics as part of medical treatment – ​​Article 75 of the Schengen Implementation Agreement”.
With this certificate, you can travel with your medication in the Schengen area for a maximum of 30 days.
Our cooperating doctors work purely as private practitioners, which is why statutory health insurance companies are currently unable to cover the costs. Private health insurance will reimburse the costs in most cases. You should discuss cost coverage with your health insurance company before starting therapy.

General Questions

No, we do not sell medical cannabis. You will receive a prescription from us, which you can then redeem at a pharmacy of your choice.
The cost of the medication varies depending on the quantity and type. Your doctor will discuss with you how much of each medication you should take.
This depends on the prescription - most are dispatched the next day. In exceptional cases it can take up to 28 days. However, we will do our best to send the prescriptions to you as quickly as possible!
Our doctors can prescribe a wide range of cannabis-based medications. Available medications come in a variety of forms such as flowers, extracts and capsules. The various medications contain a range of cannabinoids, differ in their content of cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannabinol and other plant substances. The selection and dosage of the medication agreed with you will be tailored to your symptoms.

Yes, our doctors have the autonomy to prescribe a full spectrum of medicinal cannabis products. All products prescribed must comply with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency regulations, including compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). All patients and proposed prescriptions are reviewed by our multidisciplinary team of consultants and head pharmacists before being issued to ensure that a prescription addresses all of their health needs.
